We are pleased to open nominations for the 2026 American Society of Ophthalmic Trauma (ASOT) Awards. These honors recognize individuals whose leadership, service, research, advocacy, and global impact continue to advance the field of ophthalmic trauma.
Nominations are now being accepted for the following awards:
• Ferenc Kuhn Award
ASOT’s highest honor, recognizing the most outstanding individual in ophthalmic trauma for exceptional contributions to the discipline. A current CV is required. Current Board members are not eligible while serving.
• La Piana–Mazzoli Award
Recognizes the most outstanding individual—military or civilian—in military ophthalmic traumatology. A current CV is required. Current Board members are not eligible while serving, and recipients who are not ASOT members will be granted Honorary Membership.
• Advocacy Award
Honors impactful contributions that advance ophthalmic trauma care through advocacy, awareness, or engagement with health systems and public policy.
• Founder’s Award
Recognizes individuals whose vision, leadership, and dedication have significantly shaped ASOT’s mission and growth.
• ASOT Global Excellence Award
Honors individuals or teams whose work has made a meaningful international impact on ophthalmic trauma care, education, or collaboration.
